Whats a good compact digital camera with high resolution video capture as well?

Can anyone recommend a good compact camera that can take good photo and with high resolution video camera? is there one with 1080p ?

www.joeno1.net * full HD 1920 x 1080p HQ 30fps * MP4 . Upload original file, SAM_0014.MP4, to YouTube directly * file size: 837523891 bytes, about 1.8MB/s

Is there a that is simple and records in 1080p?

I am looking to buy a video camera. I don't want anything that over does it. It should be cheap-ish. I don't want a ton of different options just a simple camera that does hd.
I am looking into doing music. so I record my songs but don't have a video to go with it. What's a good song without a good video right? So it doesn't have to do the whole super fast sports thing...just a good .

All of the major brands are good. Choose a brand that appeals to you. Then you have to think about getting a spare battery, what size memory card, if you want an extended warranty, how much you can afford, what size zoom, if you want manual controls, the size of the camera, finding a reliable place to purchase it, and the list goes on and on and on…….

The first thing to realize is that almost any digital camera will take good pictures. If more people would read the manual more than once, they would be able to take better pictures. Usually, the person assumes it is the camera when it could be them not knowing exactly what to do. Just give yourself more photographic knowledge by doing more reading on the internet.

I really believe buying a camera is an individual choice.
The person needs to read alot of reviews on cameras so they can decide on the features that they really want and need.
Go to the store and hold them so you can see if they feel comfortable in your hands. If possible, take some pictures in the store to check the quality of the pictures.
I can only give a suggestion of what to look for in a new digital camera.
Good Luck

I would recommend the panasonic tz-5. There are many reasons for this.
1: It has the highest optical zoom for any compact digital camera
2: Not only is it a high zoom camera, but it also has a respectable 9.1 megapixels.
3: It is a very strong zoom camera and is comperable to a dslr.

For a really good video review look at this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1g4icsP8k...

Also, it is a relatively compact camera.
I recommend you to go to a local store such as best buy or pc richard and get a feel for the camera o your own.
After all, words can only do so much.
Plus, you can compare the image quality yourself and not have to rely on reviews from people like me.
To look into more panasonic cameras go to this link:

If you don’t like this camera i would check out the entire canon powershot line.
Especially look into the sd 880 is, sd 890 is, or the 970 or 990 is.
Check out their website.
Also, look at these cameras at a store.

Here is a website for the entire line of canon digital cameras (even dslr’s)

Happy Shopping!
PS Panasonic is coming out with several new cameras very close to the tz5 but I would stick to the tz5 for several reasons
1. It is proven
2. It will be very cheap because the new ones will be expensive
3. It is not very different from the other ones.

Also, the tz-5 takes very good video- top of its class!

well you should be more specific as to what your using it for. For example, for me I use a camera for snowboarding and other outdoor sporty things so i got a GoPro HD Hero. It is full 1080p recording with 5mp still photos. It is by far the best camera for hd recording for action sports.

I would consider Flip UltraHD Video Camera – Black, 8 GB, 2 Hours (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL

Shoot up to 2 hours of better-than-ever HD video on the easy-to-use, now even slimmer UltraHD
Press the big red button to start capturing vibrant HD video (720p / 60fps) on the super-simple user interface
Keep your video steady with image stabilization, UltraHD’s newest feature
Connect the built-in USB arm to your PC or Mac to launch pre-loaded FlipShare software
Organize, create and share your videos with FlipShare software
