Would a 40" 1080p Sony Bravia LCD HDTV be good for gaming?
Would a 40" 1080p Sony Bravia LCD HDTV (Model number: KDL40V4100) be good for gaming? Specifically Halo 3 on xbox 360? I'm really into this game but am interested in purchasing this tv. Would the lag of such a big tv/the size itself hurt my gameplay much?

Any 1080p TV is great for gaming if you have HDMI .about the lag i have a 40″ sony also which i have no lagging problem with
Looks Good ON My Wall
sounds great! cant go wrong with Sony 1080 and LCD …
the three things that are important
i have a 37 1080 sony, best investment i ever made, i play my computer on their too,
unmatched quality
Ok I reviewed the HDTV and it seems good. I have a 50″ Plasma Hdtv and I play lots of halo 3 online and lag is not a problem, and also they say that LCD Is even better for gaming than plasma because of lag issues. and I have a plasma and doesn’t lag. At first you will not get use to it since your upgrading from sd to hd but like in 2 days you’ll get use to it. And also you can play halo 3 full HD which is 1080p full resolution nice and crisp and by the way HD looks really good. man you’ll be blown away specially since the tv you want has some awesome specs…….. Yeaaaaaaaaaaaah , thats great.
i bought a 1080p 32″ Samsung for my PS3 and it works good, Wooooh now 40″ full HD that will be great for gaming.
Plasmas are better than LCD for gaming, as LCD (even the 120Hz sets) have problems with fast motion. And burn-in is a thing of the past on Plasma.
HDTV lag is partly the need for LCD and Plasma to resize an image to its native resolution (So as long as you have a 360 with HDMI and use that HDMI to hook up to your TV, this won’t be a problem) and the various special image processing features built into HDTV, most of which don’t get applied to HDMI and usually they can be turned off anyway.
The best HDTVs for gaming on the market now are in the Panasonic Viera line (unless you can find a Pioneer Kuro Elite still new somewhere, but Pioneer dropped out of the TV business a few months ago). And they aren’t very expensive either.
There are none that anybody can give you. Your specific set will need to be calibrated to a reference DVD or Blu-Ray
What you can do is get a THX certified dvd and use its picture optimizer to adjust your set, I know the lion king and the incredibles have this option on there disc’s.
HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is a compact audio/video interface for transmitting uncompressed digital data.[1] It represents a digital alternative to consumer analog standards, such as radio frequency (RF) coaxial cable, composite video, S-Video, SCART, component video, D-Terminal, or VGA. HDMI connects digital audio/video sources—such as set-top boxes, up-convert DVD players, HD DVD players, Blu-ray Disc players, AVCHD camcorders, personal computers (PCs), video game consoles such as the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and AV receivers—to compatible digital audio devices, computer monitors, and digital televisions. Buy a new HDMI cable for your purpose. The modern flat screen TVs are a far cry from their predecessors. The picture clarity has been greatly improved with the latest Plasma or LCD screens, and the whole concept is now sleek and contemporary.Mounting your TV onto a wall opens up the entire room as a potential setting for it, whereas the old larger TV cabinets were usually placed close to the aerial point and where the large piece of furniture would best fit within the room. Great blog! Do you have any helpful hints for aspiring writers? I’m hoping to start my own blog soon but I’m a little lost on everything. Would you recommend starting with a free platform like Wordpress or go for a paid option? There are so many options out there that I’m completely overwhelmed .. Any tips? Cheers!
Too much… gaming… goodness… Wii U, ME3, Skyrim, Lara Croft, Prey 2, Battlefield 3. I may need to start playing FPS.
